Autumn field archery 2025

The Welsh field archery championship was completed on 27/28 September signalling the start of the field archery autumn season at Weobley.

Fieldarchery

Many thanks to Nigel, Paul and Peter who have been helping me (DOC) to get the course ready. The three target lanes beneath the castle had become quickly overgrown during the slack period in August so needed to be trimmed back to give a clear sight of the targets. We have put up some netting behind target 11 so that errant arrows don’t disappear over the horizon. We have also cleared the brambles behind target 12.

In the open field – Orchard Acres – Dan the farmer has been clearing the perimeters which had started to be colonised by bracken, especially behind the long target 3. The sheep have finished the job of cropping the grass so everything is looking smart for the new season.

In Pheasant Woods the netting behind target 5 has been replaced and moved further back. This has increased the deception of the long narrow shooting lane which appears a greater length than it would seem at a first glance.

Come and join us on Thursday or Sunday mornings. Other sessions are available. Just Ask DOC.
