Once again, we owe thanks to Tony Rees for organising another Target Shoot day for us. We had a great turnout, 18 archers at distances from 20yds to 50m. A few of us started to complain about it being too hot, but without exception everyone enjoyed the mornings shooting.
We’ve just received notification of the AGM of the Glamorgan Archery Association, which will take place as follows:

What a great morning shooting, Tony Rees, ably assisted by David Dolbear, challenged us all with out first Target Shoot Day of the Summer and I’m pleased to say that it didn’t disappoint. 12 Archers shooting at distances from 20yds right up to 50m. Some of us tried a National 50 for the first time (4 doz. @ 50yds, 2 doz. @ 40yds), others stuck to their regular practice distances.
We were also delighted to welcome Ali back from Russia, he was still absolutely brilliant despite not having shot in nearly 9 months.
Target shoot days allow members to shoot under a competition setting and therefore scores on these days are gathered by the records officer (Tony) and are valid towards the end of season classification awards system. People must have a minimum of 3 submitted scores in a season. In addition to club target shoot days scores from external competitions can be submitted to Tony for this purpose. Therefore, the target shoot days, the club championships and external competitions are ways in which members can submit the minimum of the 3 required scores. We have started late this year. For the indoor season we had a target shoot days once a month. So I think Tony is trying to squeeze in 3 opportunities for people so classification badges can be awarded at season end
